Miss Caprice

Owner

Experienced and Engaging Educator with over 20 years of dedicated service in the field of Early Childhood Education. Holds a Graduate Certification in Autism Studies and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Dually qualified as a Yoga Instructor with RYT200 certification and a Certified Children’s Yoga Instructor, fostering holistic development. Accomplished Trainer, adept at facilitating workshops. A creative mind who has authored Children’s Books. Proudly hailing from New York City, but now calling Maryland “home” and bringing a diverse perspective and rich background to the All Aboard Child Development Center.

I am currently the mother of three, and their ages are 16, 21, and 26. I opened my first family daycare 23 years ago after obtaining my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. All Our Children Family Daycare was opened with the assistance of my mother in Jamaica, Queens (NY) in June of 1998. We were very successful, and we were even featured in an article in the New York Daily News. Unfortunately, we closed our doors in 2002. However, in 2005, I opened Miss Caprice’s Family Daycare in Bayonne, NJ while pursuing my bachelor’s degree in and became the Vice President of the Bayonne Youth Center. In 2011 I relocated to Southern Maryland and I am currently completing my master’s degree in Early Childhood Education (Expected to be completed end of year 2021).  I’ve also completed a Post Baccalaureate Certification in Autism Studies from Towson University.  This allows me to help families in my community recognize early signs of autism and connect with the necessary resources for services.  I also help early childhood professionals recognize the signs of autism in childcare settings all across the nation. Additionally, as a certified children’s yoga instructor and RYT 200 I incorporate mindfulness and yoga into our program to help equip children and families with the tools needed to face challenges and live peacefully as early as possible. My mission is for our program to have a positive impact on your child’s life experience as a whole.

Mission

Our mission is to revolutionize the field of Early Childhood Education with professionalism, respect, and an infusion of FUN. Recognizing the significant impact we have in the lives of children and families, we aim to emphasize the pivotal role that ECE plays in a child’s overall success when firmly rooted in child development principles and a holistic approach to nurturing the whole child.

To achieve our mission, we are committed to being culturally responsive and deeply embedded within the community we serve. We recognize the importance of literacy and play in a child’s early development, and we strive to create an environment that is abundant in both, ensuring that every child is well-prepared for school and beyond. Furthermore, we understand the vital role parents and families play in a child’s growth and development. As such, we prioritize building strong partnerships with parents, working collaboratively to address their unique needs as a family unit and ensuring a harmonious support system for each child. By doing so, we aspire to create a profound and lasting impact on the lives of children, families, and the broader community.

Vision

By unwaveringly upholding our core values and embracing our mission, our vision for All Aboard Child Development Center is to establish an enduring, high-quality, and comprehensive childcare program. We aspire to create an environment where children thrive emotionally, intellectually, and socially, laying a strong foundation for their future success.

Philosophy

Respect for the Child: At our center, we hold utmost respect for each child as a unique individual. Recognizing their autonomy, we empower them with the freedom to make choices and focus on activities that capture their interests and passions. We foster an environment of mutual respect, where children, teachers, and parents/guardians collaborate harmoniously to support each child’s journey of learning and self-discovery.

The Absorbent Mind: We understand that children possess an innate capacity for learning, and their minds are naturally absorbent, constantly assimilating information from their surroundings. Embracing this inherent curiosity, we create an environment that sparks wonder and encourages exploration. We provide enriching experiences that inspire children to discover and learn almost all the time, nurturing their thirst for knowledge and understanding. The Prepared Environment: Our classroom is thoughtfully designed and organized to offer a rich array of stimulating materials and activities. This carefully curated environment beckons children to explore and engage in activities of their choosing, fostering independence and self-directed learning. By tailoring the environment to suit the diverse needs and interests of each child, we cultivate an atmosphere that nurtures their innate potential. Sensitive Periods: We recognize that during their formative years, children go through specific sensitive periods of development in various areas, including order, language, sensory skills, movement, and social skills. Our educators keenly observe and respond to these sensitive periods, providing appropriate learning opportunities and guidance to support each child’s developmental milestones. Through our commitment to these Montessori principles, we aim to create a nurturing and empowering educational experience that honors the uniqueness of every child. By instilling a love for learning, fostering independence, and embracing their natural curiosity, we aspire to lay the foundation for a lifelong journey of growth and intellectual fulfillment.
